Q40: PWS 2.3.5 if the contractor's CMMC system is restricted on the Government owned computer network, can the contractor utilize his own laptop/tablet computers and WIFI internet connection?
A40: Wi-Fi is not site permissible and network access to NMCI will be the primary computer network available for contractor use through Government provided workstations. Laptops are not authorized for continuous use. They are allowed on a case-by-case basis, usually for troubleshooting of components such as HVAC. The laptop is required to be company owned and a request for use on site will be required via company letterhead, which will be submitted to NPTU IS&T department. The laptop is inspected upon arrival and must be escorted while on site.
Q41: PWS 2.3.5 please note that most current CMMS software are not available for purchase by the contractor. They are made available by subscription and require continuous internet connectivity to function effectively. Please advise what amount of bandwidth and the connection speed available on site. Also is it acceptable to install leased software on the government network?
A41: Standard COTS CMMS software are commercially available for purchase to contractors. No installation of contractor software will be allowed on government computers and contractor should look for cloud-based functions. Connection speeds are approximately 1Mbps dependent on network usage. Considerations are being evaluated for contractor access to the AFNET (Air Force Network) off site.
