QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES
QUESTION 1. Bid Bonds - It is typical to require a 20% bid or $XXX maximum amount cap. I do not see a bid bond request anywhere in the solicitation. Can you please provide clarification?
GOVT RESPONSE: Refer to Solicitation Front Page Block 13(b) – An offer Guarantee IS required. Also refer to Section L Clause 52.228-1 (pg 57). The Bid Bond is at least 20% of the bid price but shall not exceed $3M (Ref FAR 52-228-1).
The Bid Bond amount will be added to the solicitation in an Amendment after the site visit.
QUESTION 2. Seed Project - The SOW states that we are replacing two 8” PVC sanitary sewer lines with two 10” PVC lines. Drawings C101 and C102 show the abandonment of one 8” line.
Drawings C201 and C202 show installing one 8” PVC line, while drawing C203 shows 10” PVC. Please clarify.
GOVT RESPONSE: There are two (2) 8” VCP (Vitrified Clay Pipes) to be abandoned in place between three existing manholes (Between MH 7-6 to MH 7-3 and between MH 7-3 to MH 7-20).
Drawing sheet C101 shows two arrows at MH 7-6. The top arrow SHOULD have directly pointed to MH 7-6 in lieu of the 8” PVC pipe entering said MH 7-6. The remaining arrow correctly points to the 8” VCP to be abandoned.
Drawing sheet C202 near MH 7-20, it SHOULD read “ Install 10” PVC sewer line with 45 degree coupling into MH 7-20”, in lieu of the 8” PVC sewer Line as stated.
Drawing sheet C203 is correct.
Revised drawings will be added to the solicitation in an Amendment after the site visit.
