Predictive Heat Map

Wi-Fi Network Report for SOF Maintenance Training Classroom

This desktop wireless design was developed based on information provided by the customer with access points and air monitors placed per the customer’s coverage area(s) and BITI design requirements. Some assumptions were made such as wall types and as such heat map depictions are reflective of those assumptions.

NOTE: Final design and placement of devices is subject to the integrators discretion and recommendations.

Signal Strength for Floor 1 Signal Strength - sometimes called coverage - is the most basic requirement for a wireless network. As a general guideline, low signal strength means unreliable connections, and low data throughput.

Caveats

• This design is a prediction only; no formal visit was performed to determine additional interferers.

• Inner wall construction was estimated as thicker walls being all concrete and smaller walls were assigned as drywall.

• This plan is for coverage and not capacity. There are many ways to plan a deployment, capacity, coverage and speed. In this case Aruba predicted for at least -75dBm in all areas.

• Additional interferers that may cause issues could be, additional walls not show in drawings, additional furniture not shown in drawings (minimal unless it’s large i.e. large metal filling cabinets), microwave ovens, plants, water pipes in the walls, wall mounted TVs in each room, etc…

• Microwave ovens, wireless capable TVs or projectors, wireless handsets, water pipes, trees and plants can all be interferers to the WLAN should these be identified this projection can be re-run.

• If the wall construction assumptions were incorrect, this prediction can be re-run with the appropriate values.

• It may be worth a full ACTIVE site survey once the deployment is completed to get a more accurate projection of coverage and define if there are additional APs required.
