About this file
This document is an Amendment 01 for a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by the 375th Contracting Squadron of the Department of the Air Force for a Flightline System Communications Upgrade. The RFQ number is FA440725Q0100, dated 09 September 2025. The amendment addresses a specific question regarding Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) requirements, specifically the battery run-time for 1 kVA and 2 kVA UPS units. The requirement owner clarified that a 30-minute run-time is sufficient, given the presence of generators on the facilities that can prevent power spikes to the devices. Potential vendors with questions are directed to contact margret.west@us.af.mil or andrew.kleiser.1@us.af.mil.

DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE
375TH CONTRACTING SQUADRON (AMC)
09 September 2025
MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
FROM: 375 CONS/PKB
201 E WINTERS DR. BLDG 50
SCOTT AFB IL 62225-5015
SUBJECT: Amendment 01 for RFQ Flightline System Communications Upgrade SAM RFQ
# FA440725Q0100
The purpose of this Amendment 01 is to formally address and respond to the submitted question on the attached SOW.
QUESTION: Paragraph / section 3.x - There are requirements for several UPSes. While the output of the UPSes is defined (1 kVA and 2 kVA), the run-time (or battery array size) is not defined. The run time can be significantly extended with additional rack-mount battery packs. However, these systems and spaces are presumably on critical or emergency base power and there may not be a need for extended run-time? If there is some risk with the power infrastructure, it would be helpful if the government clarified either the volt-amp-hour battery size or the necessary run-time?
ANSWER: The requirement owner believes 30 minutes is enough time since they have generators on the facilities. This should be enough time for it to transfer over and not cause power spikes to the device.
If you have any questions please send margret.west@us.af.mil or andrew.kleiser.1@us.af.mil an email.
