1 19-Jul-18 The document shows July 27, 2018 proposals due date; however proposals are due by August 20, 2018 in the General Information section of the FBO posting. 23-Jul-18 The correct due date is 20 Aug 2018. See corrected SF1449.
2 20-Jul-18 Do you have a date for pertinent questions to be submitted 23-Jul-18 See attached document, Addendum to Clauses
20-Jul-18 Is this a new requirement or is there an incumbent vendor? If available, can you please send along the incumbent contract number? 23-Jul-18
FA440714C0002
MEDSTAR Ambulance Inc P.O. Box 296 705 Bradbury Lane Sparta, IL 62286
4 6-Aug-18 Are there any requirements regarding vehicle age or mileage for the ambulance vehicles to be used for services provided under this contract? 7-Aug-18
There is no requirements regarding vehicle age or mileage on this contract. But there is a requirement for response time, and frequent breakdowns that result in not meeting the response times outlined, or during a transport, will be documented and may require remedial actions on the part of the contractor.
5 6-Aug-18 Does SAFB expect the contractor’s ALS crew to be comprised of only Paramedics?
Are EMT's as a part of an ALS crew make-up acceptable? 7-Aug-18
EMTs are acceptable, as long as the ambulance has at least one paramedic on board.
6 6-Aug-18
What has been the number of EMS transports per year based on incumbent contract data for previous cycles? Are there any predicted changes in service levels in this next contract cycle? 10-Aug-18
CY 2014 – 279 responses with 194 transports CY 2015 – 298 responses with 212 transports CY 2016 – 304 responses with 245 transports CY 2017 – 280 responses with 217 Transports CY 2018 Jan though July – 172 responses with 134 transports We do not anticipate any changes during the next contract cycle.
7 6-Aug-18
There appears to be no provision for a cap on the requirement for additional ambulance vehicles. Will the SAFB Firehouse team be providing some level of back-up for these services? If so, at what estimated level per month? 7-Aug-18
There is no cap for additional ambulances. When the primary unit gets a call, the contract company should have a secondary unit en-route to the base. If the primary unit does not transport, the secondary unit can be cancelled. If the primary unit does transport, then the secondary will stay on Scott AFB, positioned to respond, until they get a call to transport or the primary unit returns. Should the secondary be called to transport before the primary returns, then a tertiary unit should be on the way. The Scott Firehouse Team will not be providing EMT, Paramedic, or Ambulance Vehicle back-up for ambulance services.
