About this file

This document is a Site Visit Questions record for an RV Storage Parking Shade Structures project (Solicitation Number: FA303025Q0048) dated 3 September 2025. The document outlines five key questions and answers related to the project's implementation, including details about customer vehicle relocation, structural specifications, and design parameters. Specific clarifications include: customers will be relocated to the far side of the lot during construction, the shade structure's roof will face west, and alternative footing designs may be proposed subject to a licensed professional engineer's approval and government review.

The project allows flexibility in shade structure configuration, with the government indicating potential for future additional structures. Regarding aesthetic requirements, steel frames must be medium bronze or an approved equivalent color, with paint choices subject to government approval through a submittal process. The document suggests the project involves a 45' x 90' shade structure, with potential for reconfiguration based on site needs and future expansion plans.

RV Storage Parking Shade Structures – FA303025Q0048

Site Visit Questions

3 September 2025

1. Are the customers going to move the trailers that are currently in their spots before work starts?

a. Yes, the customers will be parked on the far side of the lot, out of the way.

Coordination with Government POCs and CES will be required before customers are given notice to move their vehicles.

2. What direction is the slope of the roof?

a. West Facing

3. Is round footing required, or can square footing be used instead?

a. TE-2 Drawings are for reference only – alternative footing design may be approved. Structure/footer design shall be approved and stamped by a licensed professional engineer – with the main concern being the wind rating of the structure. Design shall be submitted for Government approval.

4. Can the 45’ x 90’ shade be moved to the other end of the row of shades?

a. Yes, quotes may include reconfiguration if it makes sense. It is the intent of the Government to potentially build additional structures in the future, so reconfigurations should keep this in mind.

5. Is there a specific paint/shade that must be used?

a. Paint choice/color will be approved/denied through the submittal process.

Steel frames shall be medium bronze color or approved equal.
