FA303024Q0038 – Repair Fire Alarm Q&A Government answers in blue

#1 - For B3298, are there any building classifications requiring the equipment to be explosion proof? If not, will the government allow non explosion proof equipment and meet the existing conditions?

No requirements for explosion proof devices

#2 - Can the govt please provide a picture of the conduit elbow in which we are to utilize for connecting copper cable for FA devices in B3298 to verify conduit fill?

Yes, we verified that there are 2 - 2” conduit that runs between the facilities that shall be utilized for Fire Alarm wiring, see attached pictures.

#3 - Monaco lead times for MAAP+ panels are typically 90 days. Monaco will require payment prior to shipping all equipment. Will the government be able to approve payment of the required Monaco parts after Monaco has verified receipt of the order?

According to our Contact at Monaco they are 3-6wk turnaround. Typically, payment for equipment includes installation. We have paid for equipment and installation separately before, but this will need to be approved prior to start of work and 3064 Progress schedule will have to reflect this.

#4 - can the government confirm there are no fuel burning appliances requiring any CO Detection? If there are fuel burning appliances, can you provide those locations?

No fuel burning appliances present

#5 - can the government confirm there are no HVAC units supplying over 2000 CFM?

The HVAC system includes 2 – 1730 CFM mini split units, 1 in each room that are wall mounted with no ductwork so DDC is not required.

#6 - Upon accessing the site, we noticed the underground pipe needs to be verified. Will this happen prior to the start of the project?”

There are 2 – 2” conduits available for Fire Alarms wiring between building 3276 and 3298. Wires in conduit #1 are going to existing FACP in B3298 and will be removed in Contract. See attached Pics of conduits on both ends.
