Questions and Answer

FA303020Q0027

Q1: In reference to the enclosure requirements SOW 3.3.4 – Please advise if the owner expectations for this would be a fiberglass enclosure or a “Walk‐in” style or just a canopy over the pumps and controls.

See attached PDF file showing an examples of fiberglass enclosure and walk in style enclosure.

Answer: Enclosure should be large enough to enter pump station enclosure with tools and equipment for operational maintenance. Should have removable doors/panels for easy access/overhaul/replacement of major components if needed. Not a walk‐in style steel/brick building. See section 3.3.4 A‐D

Q2: Refer to the SOW 3.3.1, H, Item 7 on page 22 of 39. Would the new altitude valves be installed on the new pump assembly or would the new altitude valves be installed inside the existing concrete pit?

Answer: The altitude valves are part of the pump station.

Q3: Are all the valves located inside the existing concrete pit need to be removed and replaced inside the same pit?

Answer: Valves inside the valve vault are not in the SOW.

Q4: The RFP has some language in the scope regarding “NESHAP trained and certified efficient mechanics/tradesmen”. NESHAP specifically relates to Asbestos but the RFP also clearly states that Asbestos is not expected to be found. We do not have any members of our crews that have this training.

So how do we get through this situation? My approach would be that if any of the piping is insulated or if the vaults have insulation that needs to be removed, we would need to bring in an Asbestos Removal Company. Since it does not look as though this is even an issue, we would consider this a Change Order situation.

Answer: NESHAP language was removed from Statement of work with amendment 1.
