Questions and Answers #4

Question: Request extension of the Solicitation due date from 10-Aug-21 to 27-Aug-21 since we will not be able to adequately address / respond until the answers to the attached questions are known.

Answer: Solicitation due date will not be extended at this time

Question: Request removal of the Wage Determination requirement for this solicitation since this is a service not services through the use of service employees.

Answer: Wage Determination will not be removed for this requirement

Question: Will the Government provide space and power in all remote buildings for the contractor to install their own commercial services cabinet to house the equipment required for delivery of services at each locations?

Answer: Yes

Question: Will the Government provide space and power in Base Communications location (demarc) for termination of the circuit and support of core equipment stack to support Wireless LAN services to the remote buildings?

Answer: We do not have a specified demarc for commercial but we will supply space and power in the selected location for core equipment. (Bldg. 900 or Bldg. 230)

Question: What specific services, features or capabilities are required under the Management of the network?

Answer: Monitoring, keeping systems up to date with basic security measures, and a 24 hour response times to issues.

Question: Will the vendor utilize any type of mobile management system?

Answer: No

Question: Will this network include any type of data storage or servers?

Answer: No

Question: Will this system require the application and monitoring of STIGs? Are there specific Security Controls that would be part of the definition of a C-I-A package for supporting the ATO efforts (i.e. low-low-low)?

Answer: This network needs to STIG’d as a best practice but the security controls required are not specified at this time. At minimum, vendor will need to set a security baseline and monitor/update security when necessary.

Question: What types of missions will be supported such as flying training and tech training?

Answer: Per OPSEC we will not answer this.

Question: Will this system support pilot training transformations and immersive training devices?

Answer: Yes

Question: What types of devices will connect to the network?

Answer: Laptops, Cellphones, and IPads

Question: What types of devices require hardwire connection?

Answer: Virtual Reality Training Devices (A.K.A. ITD’s/Immersive Training Devices)

Question: Will the vendor highlight coverage areas for wireless coverage in one color and hardwire LAN drops in another color? Will the vendor highlight/identify equipment rooms uniquely?

Answer: Vendor will color hardwire LAN drops different from current configurations (We use blue and orange). Otherwise we don’t need different color highlights for wireless. We would prefer to identify equipment rooms uniquely.
