Solicitation # - FA302221Q0312

Questions and Answers #2

Question: Are you guys simply looking for commercial internet access in these buildings or are you wanting to wirelessly extend your base network in these facilities? It sounds like you are looking for the contractor to manage the service (i.e. adds/deletes for blocked sites) and maintenance (i.e. correct issues if an AP fails) for the duration of contract…is that correct?

Answer: We are looking for commercial internet in these buildings. Yes we are looking for the contractor to manage the service and maintenance.

Question: Do you have building diagrams of each of the facilities that provide square footage and layouts?

Answer: Floor Plans are available, but will only be provided to those companies that request them via direct email to janmichael.bunda@us.af.mil. Please note that this is privileged information and should be maintained as such.

Question: How many of the buildings on the solicitation has more than one story?

Answer: 9 Buildings

Question: The biggest issue is knowing how to install and what kind of APs to install.

Answer: I’m not sure what is meant in this question. This is up to them on how they install. We don’t have a required type of AP for install as long as it gets the job done and doesn’t throttle the connection.

Question: Dorms are easy, but is there a common room that frequently has more than 20 people in it?

Answer: Yes there is a common room in building 972 that frequently has more than 20 people in it.

Question: The other question is wiring closets. The Ethernet cables that power the APs cannot be more than 300 feet long. We're assuming there is an electrical/telephone/cable closet on every floor or so, but don't know that for sure. Can you please confirm?

Answer: There is a comm closet on every floor and can meet the requirement on within 300 feet of perspective AP locations. Although some buildings comm closets may not have space for additional racks (i.e. B236 and B268) and will need a comm cabinet to be hung on a wall.

Question: Are there offices in any hangars or just an open space?

Answer: Yes all hangars have offices on one end of the buildings.

Question: Can you provide floor plans?

Answer: Floor Plans are available, but will only be provided to those companies that request them via direct email to janmichael.bunda@us.af.mil. Please note that this is privileged information and should be maintained as such.
