About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers amendment (Amendment 005) to RFQ FA301626Q7063 for C-17 Metals Deck Loader materials and components. The contractor questions and government responses clarify specifications for multiple line items involving aluminum plates and sheets with specific dimensional and quantity requirements.

Key clarifications provided by the government include: Line Item 2 length specification of 24 feet; Line Items 2 and 3 both to be 24 feet in length (36 pieces); Line Items 21 and 22 approved at industry standard dimensions of 48" x 144" rather than the originally specified 48" x 96"; the final line item (position only) confirmed for inclusion with quantity 1 at 48" x 144"; Line Item 28 specified as 1/4" PLATE AL 7075-T7351 requiring quantity 32 with dimensions 60" x 144"; and Line Item 14 clarified as quantity 24 with dimensions 60" x 144" (not a duplicate of the final item as initially suspected by the contractor). The contractor noted a critical 12-week lead time for the aluminum sheet items, emphasizing the importance of accurate quantity specifications.

C-17 Metals Deck Loader

AMENDMENT 005

Contractor Questions and Government Responses:

Contractor Question:

1. What is the length you need on the 2nd line item?

Government Response:

The length for line item 2 can be 24 feet.

2. Line items 2 and 3 with identical item/description one has an unspecified length and the other requires 20' length. I need to know if you would like the 26 pieces required in line # 3 cut to 20' length or if you would prefer those at the full 24' length. Based on line item 2's listed weight in lbs, could I assume that you do want 36 of the 24' pieces. Also, line items 21 and 22 call for

48'x96" dimensions and industry standard availability to us is 48"x144" for both line items. Will this be acceptable or would we need to cut these to the required dimension. Lastly, the very last line item (in position only) has a description but nothing else required as far as qty, width, length or weight. We have a quote for quantity 1 at 48"x144" if you would like us to include it we will have it in our quote.

Government Response:

o Line items 2 and 3 can be 24 feet in length.

o Line item 21 and 22 can follow the industry standard of 48” x 144”.

o The last line item (in position only). Yes, include it.

3. “Thank you for the response, I have included a copy of the last page of the required materials under 3.1 Tasks for reference, from what I see can I assume this is line item 28?. Could I get a quantity and the exact dimensions, Width and Length for this, 1/4” PLATE AL 7075-T7351. I have also included the page with reference to payment with WAWF information. I do not see

FAR 52.213-1 included in this contract. If Fast Pay was included xxx would be able to include a discount. I just need clarification if this will be included and if my proposal would be appropriate.”

Okay, for that particular item I need a quantity of 32 with a dimension of 60”x144”.

4. Contractor Question:

“Thank you for the response, we happened to notice that line item 14 is this exact same quote, full dimensions and quantity, as the “mystery” last line item. Also, these sheets are the only items I have a 12 week lead time on. So it is very imperative to know if this was an accidental duplicate or if the government actually requires 64 of these sheets. Looking forward to the answer, thank you for your patience”.

For Line Item 14, there needs to be a quantity of 24 and dimensions of 60”x144”.
