About this file
This is a Combined Questions/RFIs & Answers document for Federal Solicitation FA301626Q0118, Project Name B52 Repair Replace Runway Lights. The document provides clarifications on the scope of work, specifications, and contractor responsibilities for removal and reinstallation of runway lighting and signage at an airfield facility.
The project scope involves removal, standby, and reinstallation of existing runway lights (98 fixtures), exit signs (2), and additional signage (6) without installation of new equipment. Work includes operational testing after reinstallation to verify no damage occurred. The contractor must use #6 airfield cable and is responsible for all parts, tools, and materials, though some items are available from government inventory as needed. Licensed electricians are required per the Statement of Work, and contractors must be escorted and follow 502d OSS guidelines when operating vehicles in the project area. Key clarifications address that existing lights and signs are to be removed and reinstalled in their original marked locations with no new installations required; open holes created during removal are not a concern during aircraft arrival and takeoff; contractors are liable for labor costs related to damage caused by their own actions; and site visits are not available prior to proposal submission due to the short turnaround time. Rewiring or retermination is only required if items are damaged during removal, and cable replacement may extend up to 2,000 feet if necessary.
