About this file

This is a PowerPoint presentation detailing the event layout and timeline for the JBSA Great Texas Freedom Festival (GTFF) scheduled for April 12, 2025, at McArthur Field. The layout includes specifications for a 40x20 performer stage/trailer, 35x15 repeater towers, a 40x100 crowd tent, parking areas, and designated spaces for fireworks and helicopter demonstrations.

The timeline spans April 10-13, 2025, with field preparation beginning Thursday, followed by equipment and vendor setup on Friday including static displays and helicopters (HH-60 & AH-64). The main event on Saturday runs from 1500-2130 hours, featuring military band performances, recruitment activities, Special Warfare demonstrations, drone light show, and fireworks. The event has secured significant sponsorships, including $25K from HEB and $15K from AFCEA for a STEM tent. The presentation notes challenges in achieving break-even status on the NAF (Non-Appropriated Funds) side and seeking ways to decrease APF (Appropriated Funds) expenditures.

Slide #7 - Timeline / IC Decision points

- 4-Day window when you start to see activity

- Thurs - field prep, mowing, decision field viability.

- Fri - statics / aircraft, larger tents, SW demo practice, media engagement

- Sat - Go/No-Go Briefing / finishing touches in morning / reconstitution begins

- Sun - Departure of statics / breakdown stage / fencing / FOD walk

- Day of Execution

- Over the last 3 weeks things have started to pick up, commitments solidifying, had $40K pour in sponsorships. HEB signing on as a title sponsor for $25K & Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) signed on to sponsor the STEM Tent for $15K.

- Challenges: Sponsorship has increased but goal is to get close to breaking even on the NAF side. Additionally, we’re looking for ways to decrease APF dollars expended.

- Pending any questions we’ll move into the ROC drill. We currently have 2 scenarios tee’d up. These were picked based on what could likely occur. Historically, a kid wandering off and parents can’t find them.
