About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file for a federal contract opportunity (FA301625Q01690002) involving a chiller repair at Joint Base San Antonio. The contractor has raised specific questions about the diagnostic process for Chiller #2, seeking clarification on the parts replacement approach, potential additional troubleshooting costs, and warranty coverage. The key concerns include understanding the original diagnosis, confirming the necessity of the proposed parts replacement, and establishing clear protocols if the chiller continues to malfunction after the initial repair intervention. The contractor is particularly interested in confirming a one-year warranty for parts and labor to mitigate potential future repair expenses.

QUESTIONS
ANSWERS

Could you provide details on who diagnosed the issue with chiller #2 and wheat led to the conclusion that certain parts require replacement? We are concerned that installing new parts may not guarantee the chiller #2 will operate as expected. If it still does not turn on, we will need to troubleshoot further, which could incur additional costs.

If we proceed with the installation of the parts requested and the chiller continues to experience issues, should we wait for the technician responsible of diagnosing for the parts replacement, or would you recommend initiating another round of diagnostics on our own?

We would like to confirm that the parts and labor will carry a one-year warranty.
