The solicitation is for the removal and installation of new furniture in 10 rooms across 4 classrooms, 4 offices, a main office, and an associate office at Building 10634 on JBSA-Lackland AFB. The Statement of Work specifies the furniture requirements, including that classroom furniture should have casters for modularity, but office furniture should not. The contractor is also responsible for removing existing floor power/electrical in the classrooms. No brand preferences are indicated, but the aesthetics should align with the building's blue and grey carpeting. Clarification is needed on the dimensions and materials for the furniture in the main office. Sheet1
| SOW States (2) battery Pack for Rm #149, #159, #160 & #164- Can you please confirm what this is in reference too? Is there a model / application that can be provided? | We need to be able to power up to 12 devices throughout an 8-10 hour school-day. The furniture will be modular, so the power source needs to be cordless and easy to move. |
| SOW Requirements (last bullet point) states furniture in classroom should not have casters. Can you clarify if all furniture, including the tables, chairs and mobile whiteboards should all have glides VS casters? Descriptions appear to ask for rolling capabilities. | The classroom furniture needs to have casters since the intent is for it to be modular. The office furniture should not have casters with the exception of the office chairs. |
| SOW states Contractor is responsible to remove floor power/electrical in classrooms (#149, #159, #160, & #164) May we request photos of what this power looks like now to understand this scope of work better? If it’s core power (built into the cement floor) vs running extension cords? What type of electrical needs to be removed? | pictures. It is similar to an extension cord ran on top of the ground (cement flooring). The cover paneling secures the wires to the floor with small screws. (Please see Attachment 4) |
| Where will the existing furniture be placed after removed? | The existing furniture needs to be disposed of. |
| Is there a manufacturer that is preferred, I wanted to ask if there are any specific brand preferences for the items involved in the project. It would be helpful to know if there are particular brands or specifications(other than the ones listed) we should adhere to when sourcing materials and equipment. | We do not have a brand name preference. |
| Regarding the main office and associate office layouts, I am wondering if there is more than one picture that should be on that file it only shows one. Having a complete visual representation of the layouts would assist us in understanding the project requirements better. | I'll send you pictures. (Please see Attachment 4) |
| Regarding the 16 chairs intended for the regular classrooms, could you please specify the desired color? Ensuring that the chairs align with your preferences will contribute to the overall aesthetics and functionality of the classrooms. | Our goal is for the classrooms to look and feel modern. The building's carpet is patterned with blues and grey, so we're thinking that grey would work best. |
| Regarding the electrical layout on the floor, it would be immensely helpful to have a picture to assess what needs to be removed. Visualizing the current setup will enable us to plan and execute any necessary adjustments efficiently. | pictures.(Please see Attachment 5) |
| Can we please have a drawing for Room #106? | pictures.(Please see Attachment 5) |
| For Room #106, what dimensions are on the electric table base – does the 41”-59.5 refer to the width or the table height? What is 30 feet? If the main office is only 14’ x 12’, I don’t know how anything can be 30’ – unless this is supposed to mean 30”d height adjustable desk? | Yes, those are inches. 41" x 59.5" is width x length. |
| Is the furniture in Room 106 to be all laminate or metal with laminate tops? | This is the Main Office office, so laminate would probably be best. Metal is more suited for the classroom. |
| For Room 106, you have a pedestal listed as file/file 30”w – is that a lateral file? Typically, pedestals are only 15”w | 15" works. |
| Rm 106,You have a hutch kit light fascia that says metal – is this to go on a laminate or metal hutch kit? | Laminate. |
| For Rm 106, how many employees are in this space? A drawing would really help interpret this request – there appear to be more worksurfaces than needed? | The Main office needs to have a small conference table to fit 6. I'll send a picture. |
| What does stepped base mean? Is that a toekick? Or is that 1 ½ storage? | I'm unable to find what you're referring to. It may be a stepped table base. |
| The quantity of each room's furniture are different in each room, can we provide a quotation that does not follow "Solicitation/Contract Form"? The prices might be affected due to the quantity difference. | (Please see attachmen 6) |
| There are battery packs that are included that are not specified. I don't know what types are they or for what furniture/equipment they are for? | The battery packs would be for the mobile charging stations. |
| Is there a layout that can be provided, or atleast a hand drawn sketch of how the furniture will be assembled for the installation? | I can provide pictures and schematics.( Please see Attachment 4) |
| Is this going to be on the ground floor? If not, is there a service elevator to help carry the parts? | This will be on the first floor, however, there are stairs. If they are able to go over a curb, they can access the narrow side ramp. The building is accessed by double doors so width shouldn't be an issue. |
