QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Cut off date for contractor questions is 2:00 pm CDT, May 18, 2018. Questions 1 - 10

Question 1: Is the site visit mandatory? Is it just to show the locations of the trailers or something more?

Government Response: The site visit is not mandatory; site visits are simply used to get a better understanding of the location, possible obstacles, and the requirement itself.

Question 2: We are reading correctly that no hookup is required? You are just requesting the dropoff of the trailers correct?

Government Response: This is correct; government personnel has agreed to be responsible for all hookup requirements to the building. The contractor must ensure that the appropriate commercial receptacle is available on the unit.

Question 3: Are there specs for any stairs or skirting? We have not come across any.

Government Response: Basic characteristics: The desired stairs (2 sets) are capable of folding up (collapsing) against the trailer to save space, as well as deploy to serve both latrines. Handrails are present on the outside (if ascending parallel to trailer body) or both sides (if ascending perpendicular to trailer body). The stairs and landing (at top, next to door) must be capable of holding at least 350 lbs. The steps must have rubber or anti-slip strips covering the metal to aid in prevention of falling.
