Solicitation FA301024R0009 Fallen Heroes Memorial Butterfly Garden Fence Questions

1. Where is the fence going to be located? The site is not square/rectangular as shown on the diagram. Where are the columns going to be located and where is the open side?

A: The fence begins on the West side of the garden entrance, extends along the Northern perimeter, and ends at the Southeast corner of the garden. The front of the garden remains open. This is a three-sided fence. This is not a perfect rectangle, and the diagram has been updated to reflect the shape. It is preferred to have brick columns at each corner. The columns would begin on the far East and West corners and an additional column would be placed on the Northeast corner.

2. The drawing shows that there are many more curves of the sidewalks and trees that cannot be cut, please advise on the layout.

A: There is a route that can be taken to avoid trees and internal sidewalks

3. Can the columns be constructed using block and brick in lieu of concrete with a tile face?

Suggestion would be to use 12” block poured with concrete and veneered with regular brick. This would eliminate the possibility of the tile popping off the concrete.

A: Yes, this would be accepted.

4. There's a concrete curb on the north side of the butterfly garden. What happens to it?

A: Contractor would need to submit an RFI and contact Contracting prior to removing any foliage, concrete curbs, or anything of question.

5. There are bushes on the northeast corner by the single gate what happens to them?

A: Contractor would need to submit an RFI and contact Contracting prior to removing any foliage, concrete curbs, or anything of question.
