18. Will SealoFlex be considered an approved equal? System composed of Sealoflex Pink, Sealoflex Fabric, and Sealoflex Finish Coat.
A: Insufficient data. Please submit documentation showing results of entire proposed system (foundation and finish coat) using/ achieving “ASTM D-6083- Standard Specification for Liquid Applied Acrylic Coatings used in roofing.” Also, please submit sample warranty for comparison.
19. The specifications provides that mechanically attach the recover board through the existing roof. Can you please give the thickness of the existing roof system? It appears to be ¼ per foot tapered fiberglass insulation, we did a test core the roof insulation was over 10” inches thick.
A: Drawings indicate a sloped roof structure sloping 18” in elevation from the perimeter to the drains. Steel decking was shown to have a constant 5-6” of insulation and coverboard. Please indicate area where core was taken so we can investigate.
20. Also can you provide a fastening pattern for the recovery board through the existing roof?
A: Starting from the center- 12” OC along 4’ length. 18” OC along 8’ length. See Densdeck technical sheets for visual.
21. Can you clarify where the Kymax coatings should be used?
A: The “field” of the roof shall be a 20 year system comprised of the premium coat (or approved equal) system only. Bronze Kymax (or approved equal) should be used to “finish” out the clerestory penthouse and existing flashings and trim only.
