About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics Sheet for a United States Air Force Flight Attendant uniform procurement. The solicitation requires the development and supply of professional uniforms for both male and female Air Force Flight Attendants, with all garments to be procured from outside China.

Material and General Requirements: All uniform components except the outercoat must utilize a fabric blend of ideally 55% Nylon, 20% Polyester, and 5% Spandex, with the remaining 20% at vendor discretion, provided the material remains machine washable and dryable. Garments must feature 4-way stretch capability, or 2-way stretch if 4-way is unavailable, to accommodate the full range of motion required for flight operations. All suit components (blazers, vests, pants, skirts, dresses) must be black, while all shirts must be white. Uniforms must have tailored fit in accordance with DAFI 36-2903 Class B service uniform standards. The vendor must provide a warranty covering seam failures and material defects, with defective items replaced at no vendor cost. Quality assurance requirements include a testing period where personnel wear products during actual flight operations.

Specific Uniform Quantities: Men's uniforms per flight attendant include 2 blazers, 2 vests, 5 pairs of black pants (flat-front preferred), 5 white shirts, 1 crew neck sweater (black or navy blue), and an outercoat with specified 70% Polyester/30% Viscose face and 67% Polyester/28% Viscose/5% Spandex back composition. Women's uniforms include 2 blazers, 1 vest, 3 pairs of black pants, 4 white shirts, 2 conservative midi-length black dresses, 1 crew neck sweater (black), and an identically specified outercoat. The vendor must also propose a line of conservative, professional accessories including belts, shoes, ties, scarves, and pearls, subject to contracting officer approval. The vendor should ideally maintain a physical retail location for professional sizing and product exchanges. Damage due to seams or craftsmanship defects will be covered by the vendor, while accidental damage caused by personnel will be covered through contract payment or member cost-sharing as determined by leadership.
