MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

From: 316 CONS/PKB

Subject: Follow-up Questions after the Site Visit to Bldg 1413 for Solicitation FA286021Q0050 and the Government’s Response

Project Title: SIPR Rack Relocation, Bldg 1413

1. The following questions and responses are provided to assist interested vendors with their decision-making processes:

Q1. Will the Government accept LC connectors instead of MTRJ connectors? MTRJ connectors are end of life and are no longer available.

ANSWER: Yes.

Q2. The Government stated the preference is to install OM3 cables. With the OM3 cables, new patch cords will be required. How many new patch cords will the Government need and what length? (Information: The 62.5 cables are no longer recognized by BICSI standards. The OM3 cables meet the minimum industry standards.)

ANSWER: Patch cords: 100 (1-meter) & 100 (3-meter).

Q3. Upgrading to OM3 cables will required new network equipment and media converters. Will the Government provide the required equipment? If not, what equipment will the Government need and how many?

ANSWER: The Government will provide switches and router. One (1) media converter will be required.

Q4. Will the Government provide network engineering support during the cutover in case issues arise?

ANSWER: Yes, Government personnel will be available to ensure new switches and router are properly configured.

Q5. Will the Government provide the paint color and manufacturer for the room requiring patching and painting?

ANSWER: Information not available. Contractor will be responsible to paint match to current color

Q6. Will the Government allow the work start date to commence after the materials arrive due to longer delivery time? OEM’s are still recovering from the negative impact on business operations and supply chain due to COVID-19.

ANSWER: The contractor is responsible to provide a quote that outlines the total performance time required for the work. Ex: if there is a 6 week lead time for parts, and performance of the work itself takes an additional 4 weeks, then the quote should reflect accordingly for the total amount of time through completion. Any award made would be inclusive of lead time as part of the Period of Performance (PoP).

Q7. Will the Government grant another site visit?

ANSWER: No, another pre-award site visit will not be granted for this requirement.

2. The solicitation period is extended to Friday, 3 September 2021, 4:30 PM EST. Offers received after the closing date and time will not be considered for this contracting opportunity.
