SUBJECT: AWACS Audio Visual System (AVS) Upgrade, B1612, Solicitation: FA2835-18-Q-0005, Questions and Answers

Some of these questions were presented during the site visit for the subject action on Wednesday, 13 June 2018, while some others were submitted via email on or before Thursday, 14 June 2018 at 4:00pm EST, as specified in the Combined Synopsis Solicitation, paragraph 17, sentence C.

1. Will the current conference phone system be re-used?

No. The conference phone system will be replaced by upgrade.

2. How the source selection will be controlled? Single controller or multiple remotes?

The source selection will be controlled by a touch-screen single device. SOW updated to clarify this requirement.

3. Will a rack be needed to mount multiple pieces of equipment?

Yes, a rack will be needed. SOW updated to clarify this requirement.

4. How many sources of input will go into the controlling device?

4 sources of input.

5. How will the TV be mounted? To the wall or on a stand?

The TV needs to be mounted on the wall after removing the smartboard.

6. Is the contractor removing and discarding the smartboard?

The contractor is removing the smartboard and leaving it on the premises.

7. Are new ceiling tiles being installed?

No, the current ceiling tiles stay.

8. How will the cables be ran from the controlling device to the conference table? Can wireless connection be used?

The cables need to be ran in a clean, organize way; they cannot pose a tripping hazard.

No wireless connection is allowed.

9. Are speakers and microphones needed on the ceiling and the conference table?

SOW updated to reflect 12 ceiling-mounted speakers and sufficient ceiling-mounted microphones to cover the main seating area around the conference table (approximately 16 feet long) are needed.

10. Is the current projector screen being re-used.

Yes, the current projector screen stays, it is being re-used.

11. Is the dim switch needed?

No. The dim switch will be removed from the PWS.

12. Are there designs, pictures or blueprints for the exterior and interior of the conference room? This information is critical for wall and ceiling construction, light placement, lighting type, new audio visual item placement, and lengths for cable installation.

There are no blueprints, but pictures of the space were added to the Combined Synopsis Solicitation.

13. Are requirements that the screen be electronically controlled or manual pulldown?

The flat panel screen should be attached to the wall and or supported by a stand and/or both.

14. Is a fixed projector mount for the conference room or an electronically controlled, lowering and raising, projector mount preferred?

Projector is remotely controlled and in a fixed position. No need to raise or lower it.
