About this file
This file is a Request for Information (RFI) Q&A document providing clarifications on furniture procurement and installation requirements for Schriever Space Force Base. The solicitation (FA255026Q0011) calls for office furniture procurement and installation across three designated rooms (Rooms 10, 12, and 14) by September 30, 2026, with quotes due by May 15, 2026, following multiple deadline extensions. The government confirmed that the nonmanufacturer rule requires both the contractor and manufacturer to be small businesses, with the floor raised to 27 inches for desking.
Key requirements include: Room 10 needs four cubicles with cased goods training desks (not executive style) configured for four NIPR-capable workstations with cubicle panel heights of 60-66 inches; Room 12 requires larger-width training classroom desks with flexibility on dimensions; and Room 14 needs 19 cubicles (corrected from initial confusion), drawers, chairs, and overhead cabinets. Power specifications call for minimum two duplex receptacles per workstation, with Room 14 requiring direct connection to the electrical panel and Rooms 10-12 powered from wall or floor outlets. Task chairs should include adjustable arms but other upgrades are optional. The contractor is responsible for site assessment and design suggestions are welcomed. Installation may occur during business hours (0730-1630), with loading dock access available 500 feet from installation locations with no stairs required. The government will arrange pre-installation walkthroughs and requests that electricians be submitted for approval through the contracting office.

Sheet1
| RFI # | RFI | RFI Response |
Is the Non-manufacturer Rule going to be followed where both the dealer and manufacturer(s) need to be a small business OR only the dealership is required to be a small? | BLUF: The nonmanufacturer rule requires both to be small business.
Exaplanation: If the dealer is the small business and the manufacturer is a large business, this would require a Waiver from Small Business Adminsitration which is what CONS is trying to prevent as the process for a waiver is time consuming and not guaranteed to be obtained.
Is the floor raised? | Yes, 27"
Please verify the quantity of furniture required in the SOW. (For instance, Room 14 requires 19 cubicles, drawers, chairs, and overhead cabinets yet 20 desks). | The rough sketch we had was for 19 desks. The SOW has been updated to reflect this.
For room 10, do you require cubes or cased goods? | Cased goods. Looking for more along the lines of training desks not standard work desks.
Do we have a CAD (Floor plan) drawing? | Drawing has been provided.
Is a date extension possible? In order to provide Fixed Firm Pricing, Design may need more time depending on when the questions are answered. | An extension will be provided.
Please confirm Rooms 10, 12, and 14 are the highlighted rooms in the attachment and no other work is requried. | 10 ,12, and 14 are the rooms being renovated. Only work that may be required outside would be electrical if a circuit is needed.
Executive style is referenced - is this for all desks or just rooms 10 & 12? | disregard just looking for tables to perform training activities in a classroom setting in room 12. Room 10 just maximize cubicle furniture.
Can you please further explain "executive style"? | disregard executive furniture.
Overall layout - are the requirements to follow the plans provided or provide suggested layouts? Are D tops required for desking? | suggestions can be made to maximize space. D tops are not required for desking.
Room 10 specifices 4 cubicles, 4 stationary desks, design looks to be (4) surfaces with 2 stations - is the ask for (4) people in (4) cubes with cubicle walls in room 10? | Will be 4 workstaitons for 4 people to be able to occupy with just NIPR capability.
Room 12, are you open to larger desks widths? Making the assumption it's 2 people per 60"w, can we provide something larger? | Larger widths will be fine.
Room 14, the swinging doors - are those hard wall doors or furniture system doors; are swinging doors required for the cubicles? Are there specified heights? Do NIPR and SIPR need to be separated by a certain distance? It looks like there are random cubicle wing panels throughout - are those required? | Those hard doors are on the system furniture. Not a requirement for new furniture. Specified cubicle heights around 60-66". High enough to ensure overhead storgae but does not require doors. Willing to allow the ability to open up the space some. SIPR is not in the space area so the question is not applicable.
Are there any upgrade preferences for all task chairs? Adjustable arms, lumbar support, seat tilt limiter? | adjustable arms, but not overly required for other upgrades. Open to suggestions from vendors/contractor.
Is the power required in the panels? If so, how many receptacles per workstation? If so, is powered required in the baseline, or base and belt line? | Minimum of 2 duplex receptacles placed on each side of the desk to maximize usable desk space.
Is there an install date you're working towards? | no specific date, just before end of fiscal year, 30 September 2026, would be preferred
There is a request to not cover existing wall accessories, is there a plan that provides these? | No layout plan, but pre-installation walk through can be arranged as it is the contractor's responsibility to assess the area for accuracy and discprepancies prior to beginning work.
Are you able to provide layout of how you are wanting the furniture setup to be? | Can provide possible suggestions, but open to suggestions from contractors
What brand specified for this project? | No specific brand.
What are the room dimensions? | Provided in the AutoCAD Drawing.
Are phsycial modular walls required for this project, or is it limited to furniture only? | would like cube walls to break up work spaces, plus provide pssible mounting spaces for storage
Please provide additional details for worksurfaces and cabinets: dimensions (W x D x H)and any specifications. | SOW has been updated with dimensions.
Can we deliver and install the product during business hours? | yes, personnel will be available between 0730-1630.

If there isn't a loading dock, where will we offload the truck? | n/a
Apprxoimately how far is it from the truck offload site to the install location? | 500 feet with straight open hallways.
Are there any stairs that the product will need to go up or down to reach the install location? | no stairs
Will we use a passenger or reight elevator for delivery to the install location, if applicable? | not needed on the first floor
Will our electrician need to pull new circuits from the electrical panel or will we attach to existing power junction boxes at walls/columns (reuse the existing electrical that is being used fro the existing panel system? | can reuse the maximum, but may need to pull a a circuit or 2.
Does 50 CES have a list of approved electricians that they would like us to use? | CE does not have a list of approved electricians. Still suggest submitting the electrician for approval through CONS office before proceeding.
Should the initial design of all furnishings reflect what is shown in Attachment 2 (knowing that the awarded contractor is responsible to complete architectual plans and final installation plans during the post award site visit)? | not needed. We are fine with seeing any plans that are provided and suggested by contractors.
Are the seating specifications open to upholstered and/or mesh seats backs, or a combination of mesh and upholstered? | Updated in the SOW.
Power - Will the station occupants equipment connect directly into the existing wall or raised floor outlets or are station electrical infeeds required that connect directly to the building circuit panel? | in room 14 the existing furniture should be powered directly from the panel and would need to reqired. Rooms 10 and 12 can be done from the wall/below floor.
