About this file
This is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) for drone training services dated 21 May 26. The contractor shall provide comprehensive Group 2 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) target training for the 301st Rescue Squadron at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, with the purpose of instructing HH-60W aircrews in tactics for countering small, high-speed aerial threats.
The contractor must provide four Group 2 UAS targets meeting specific performance requirements: airspeed of 100-120 Knots Indicated Airspeed, operation below 500 feet altitude, minimum three hours of flight time endurance, and controlled flight capability 20-25 nautical miles from shore in assigned Atlantic Ocean warning areas. The contractor shall provide qualified operational support personnel for transport, assembly, launch, operation, and recovery of all UAS assets and ground support equipment. Training consists of four total training days: two days focused on "search and intercept" training sorties and two days focused on "intercept and kinetic engagement" sorties, culminating in destruction of the four UAS targets. The contractor must designate a single point of contact for coordination with the government's technical representative and attend all pre-mission briefings. The contractor is responsible for removing company-generated waste and equipment from government facilities daily; debris recovery from destroyed targets offshore (12-25 nm) is not required. Launch, recovery, and ground support operations occur at Patrick Space Force Base, with air training operations conducted in designated airspace 12-25 nautical miles east of the base over the Atlantic Ocean. The period of performance will be determined at award based on government need and lead time. The contractor must comply with all base access, security, and identification requirements at Patrick Space Force Base, with contractor responsibility for personnel credentials and clearances; delays from non-compliance shall not result in additional government costs. The government provides base access credentials, a briefing space, and airspace scheduling and deconfliction.

The contractor shall:
2.1 Provide UAS Targets: Provide a total of four (4) Group 2 UAS targets for kinetic engagement and destruction. These targets shall, at a minimum, meet the following performance characteristics:
Airspeed: 100-120 Knots Indicated Airspeed (KIAS) Altitude: Operation below 500 feet Endurance: Minimum 3 hours of flight time Control: Capable of controlled flight 20-25 NM from shore in assigned warning areas over the Atlantic ocean.
2.2 Provide Operational Support: Provide a sufficient number of qualified personnel to transport, assemble, launch, operate, and recover all UAS assets and associated ground support equipment.
2.3 Conduct Training Events: Execute four (4) total training days, consisting of:
Two (2) days focused on "search and intercept" training sorties.
Two (2) days focused on "intercept and kinetic engagement" sorties, culminating in the destruction of the four UAS targets.

2.5 Housekeeping & Debris: The contractor is responsible for removing all company-generated waste and equipment from government-provided facilities daily. As training operations will be conducted 12-25 nm offshore, no debris recovery from destroyed targets is required.
3.0 Government Furnished Information/Property (GFI/P)
3.1 Installation Access: The Government will provide necessary and timely base access credentials for all pre-approved contractor personnel and vehicles.
3.2 Facilities: The Government will provide a suitable briefing space for pre-mission coordination with flight crews. Access to hangar space is not guaranteed but may be provided on a space-available basis.
3.3 Airspace: The Government is responsible for scheduling and deconflicting the necessary training airspace.
4.0 Place of Performance
Launch, recovery, and ground support operations will be conducted at Patrick SFB, FL. Air training operations will be conducted in the designated airspace 12-25 nm east of Patrick SFB over the Atlantic Ocean.
5.0 Period of Performance
The period of performance will be determined with awardee at time of award based on the government’s need and lead time necessary. The contractor must demonstrate flexibility to adjust specific event days within this period to accommodate weather or range scheduling issues.
