About this file
This document is a Q&A related to a concrete solicitation for the construction of a K-Span structure at the Kennedy Space Center for the Department of the Air Force Space Command. The solicitation requires 1,400 cubic yards of ASTM C150/C150M Type II concrete with 3/4" or lower gradation conforming to ASTM C33/C33M, with no additives. A concrete pump will be required for 4 of the 12 estimated concrete pours, while alternative distribution methods can be used for the remaining pours. The document provides the estimated concrete quantities and pour dates for the various components of the project, which includes stem walls, interior building lanes, exterior walls, and cap endwalls.

FA252124R0047 – BOM Concrete Q and A Q: “Could you confirm whether a concrete pump will be required to distribute wet concrete from the mixer trucks, or if an alternative distribution method is acceptable for the project?”
A: A concrete pump will be required for 4 pours (those estimated for the 17th and 18th of December, as well as the 30th of Jan and the 18th of Feb). The rest can use alternative methods of distribution or a pump as the contractor sees fit.
Here are the amounts of concrete that we will need for each of the estimated pour days.
