About this file

This document provides design clarifications for federal contract opportunity FA252122B0004 to repair various lift stations on Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The clarifications specify details such as the size of a sun shield for a control pedestal, part numbers for telemetry and SCADA equipment, compatible strobes and horns for alarm panels, requirements for routing new force mains and installing elbows, guidance on pressure control valves and check valves, and the need for a concrete rather than fiberglass wet well. Clarification is also provided on temporary jumper connections for wash water services. Contractors must submit requests for information if any exceptions are taken to the clarifications prior to bidding on the opportunity.

DBEH 12-1563, Repair Lift Stations Various, CCSFS Design Clarifications

6/28/2022

1. Sheet E-501, Flag Note 11: The size of the sun shield needed for the lift Station control pedestal on should be the full width of control panel.

2. Sheet E-501, Flag Note 6: Part numbers for the telemetry antenna and SCADApack:

- Antenna - Aluminum MYA yagi, PCTEL MYA1503K(N)

- SCADAPack - SCADAPack 334E, part # TBUP334-EA55-AB00S

3. Sheet E-501, Flag Notes 9 and 10: Part numbers for the strobe and horn:

- BOAC-1 battery operated alarm with charger, made by Motor Protection Electronics, LLC has been used successfully in prior lift station control panels.

- See the product data sheet at http://products.mpelectronics.com/item/special-controls/battery-operated-alarms-with-charger--boac-/boac-001 to see compatible strobes and horns for the

BOAC-1.

4. Sheet C-102 and C-103, Construction Flag Note 7: Instead of running the new force mains through the existing valve, re-route the new effluent piping around the valve box. 45 degree elbows must be used for 90 degree turns. Thrust blocks and/or thrust restraints must be used per the specifications.

5. Sheet C-102 and C-103, Construction Flag Note 14: It appears the new vertical force main pipes will be impacted by the location of the existing hatch cover. If so, 45 degree elbows must be installed to clear the hatches.

6. Sheet C-102, Construction Flag Note 11: Guidance will be provided if necessary after construction award on installation of the Zurn Wilkins pressure control valves.

7. Sheet C-103, Construction Flag Note 20: The 2” water RPX and hose bibb are not required at this location.

8. Sheet C-103, FAC 90404, existing riser pipe from base elbow: The existing riser pipe is 8” pipe not 6”, so an 8” check valve assembly must be installed.

9. Sheet C-104, Construction Flag Notes 13 and 14: Restraints are required. Further guidance will be provided if necessary after construction award.

10. Question: Sheet C-104, Construction Flag Notes 10 and 11: The C900 pipe and fittings are required but have a long lead time so plan accordingly.

11. Sheet C-104, Construction Flag Note 9: A concrete wet well, not fiberglass, is required. Further guidance will be provided if necessary after construction award.

12. Sheet C-503, temporary jumper detail: Clarification on each wash water service connection will be addressed on an individual basis. The Contractor must submit an RFI if exception is taken to the temporary BFP jumper.
