3. Item # 1 Repair F line
SOW states The duct bank will be placed between existing Manholes 211 and 212. Drawing EC- 103 shows going to MH2314
SOW states “Pull cable from switch 3N5 to 3N7 to transformer CX32I1. Drawings seem to indicate transformer CX34I1
Answer: Ductbank between MH 2314 and MH 212. Pull cable from existing switch 3N5 and new switch 3N7 to transformer CX34I1. Also picking up transformer MOTR as per design drawings. CX32I1 should read CX34I1
4. Item # 2 Repair J line
SOW says to (Pull new 4/0 cable from existing switch 3N6 through manhole 2314 to existing switch
CC617 and through existing manhole 2474. Drawings seem to indicate existing switch CCCG17.
Routing is unclear from MH2474 to MH2475, however the cost will be similar between the east or west duct banks 10W6, assuming there is a spare conduit in either.
Answer: pick up CCCG17 by splicing into MH 438 on the corner of Central Control Rd and ICBM road.
5. Item # 3 Radiographic Tests
SECTION 26 05 13.00
Perform and submit radiographic tests on all splices/terminations at the discretion of the Contracting Officer to determine if voids exist. Rework unacceptable cable, splices or terminations at no additional expense to the Government.
Need clarification. X-Ray testing is quite expensive. High-pot testing determines the acceptability of failure of splices and terminations, and is also required. What is meant by “at the discretion of the contracting officer?”
Answer: Use very low frequency (VLF) Testing. X-ray testing is not required.
6. Item # 4 Excavations
SECTION 01 11 00.00 30
