Q-What size fuel bowser(s) need refurbishment? I see the picture of NGH Heaters, but no other mention of NGH heaters. Does the government need a quote for NGH Heaters as well?
Paragraph 5. of the PWS, Materials, states that the 106th MXS will provide coatings. However, I see a discrepancy with the required coatings. Per TO 35-1-3, table 3.1 Authorized Coating Systems, on ferrous alloys, MIL-PRF 85285 Type IV is preferred. Also, referencing the same table, zinc rich primer conforming to MIL-PRF 26915, and tie coat conforming to MIL-DTL 53030 or MIL-DTL 53022 Type II or IV is required. MIL-DTL 23377 is no longer authorized on SE with ferrous alloys. Per TO 35-1-3, table 2.1, Wash Interval Based on Corrosion Severity Zones, Suffolk Co. Apt., NY (ANG) is listed as a severe corrosion environment. Utilizing the proper coating system will ensure that the AGE is properly protected from corrosion. Will the 106 MXS provide the proper coatings per TO 35-1-3? If not, we can provide and apply these coatings.
A- No NGH heaters will require paint under contract. Fuel bowsers are as one 600 Galloon and one 200 Gallon. There was a change in 35-1-3 while the contract was out to bid which is why there is a difference in coating types. We will provide all required coatings as per 35-1-3.
