About this file
This document is a Vendor Request for Information (RFI) for a Heat Treating Oven Furnace, Solicitation No. F5F2MA5141AQ01. The RFI seeks detailed specifications about the oven, including product dimensions, operational characteristics, and requirements. Key details include a desired oven size of 18" H x 24" W x 48" L, weighing 1000-1200 Lbs, capable of reaching temperatures up to 2000° F, and operating on electric service. The government specifies that the oven should accommodate various loading methods, with a preference for flat surfaces to prevent part warpage, and can process light batches (typically around 20 Lbs for steel).
Critical procurement requirements include a firm 20-week After Receipt of Order (ARO) lead time, which is a hard requirement. The oven will be used for heat treating different materials, primarily aluminum and occasionally steel, with temperature varying based on the specific material being processed. The government indicates no floorspace or overhead restrictions and no presence of solvents or vapors during batch processing. Potential vendors are expected to provide detailed information about their product that meets these specific operational parameters.

Heat Treating Oven Furnace (Solicitation No. F5F2MA5141AQ01)
Vendor Request for Information
1) What is the weight and dims of your product?
a) Gov. Ans: 1000-1200Lbs 18” H x 24” W x 48” L
2) Are there any solvents/vapors are present when processing a batch? What volume of each solvent is present.
a) Gov. Ans: N/A
3) What is your desired temperature? What is your maximum temperature?
a) Gov. Ans: Desired temperature varies depending on what type of material is being heat-treated. 2000° F
4) What is your loading method (ex. tray, basket, shelf, etc.)?
a) Gov. Ans: All methods of loading are fine but a flat surface is ideal to keep parts from warpage during heating process.
5) What is the weight of each batch?
a) Gov. Ans: Not heavy if we are heat treating aluminum and when we have heat-treated steal it was maybe around 20Lbs which is rare instances with steal.
6) Do you require gas or electric service? What voltage do you require?
a) Gov. Ans: Electric
7) Do you have any floorspace or overhead restrictions for the oven?
a) Gov. Ans: No, we have plenty of room.
8) Is the 20-week ARO lead time a hard requirement?
a) Gov. Ans: Yes
