Vendor Visit Questions/Concerns August 2019 (Responses in “red”)

1. 2.2- asks for 200 self-closing boxes, will the government be purchasing these boxes? Or leasing them for the duration of this project?

Please disregard what is in the SOW pertaining to supplying 200 self-closing boxes. The government unit/organization will purchase the boxes.

2. 2.4- please confirm minimum STC rating of .44 as discussed during site visit with full height doors. Please confirm ceiling height.

No less than .44 STC – utilize normal full height. Ceiling height will be field verified by vendor.

3. 3.2- Design Services- please confirm that during site visit it was determined that all contractors are to bid per overall drawing and individual typicals. See attachments 1-15 using standard manufactures product only.

Yes, see and use the provided SOW typicals.

4. 3.2.11- if we’re to use the government supplied drawings to bid from, and there was no existing electrical plan, please advise how contractor is to insure that there are no existing outlets, switches or other devices will not be covered. This can be addressed after award and after demo of space to determine if there will be any issues.

Field verification of electrical outlet will be conducted by vendor. Any existing outlets and switches currently uncovered will remain uncovered.

5. 3.5.2- Will the contractor resume/bio be part of the technical evaluation and basis of award?

No. The contractor’s resume will not be used for basis of award.

6. 3.5.6- Please confirm that a temporary visqueen will need to be installed in west side of southern border of work zone. From conference wall to western exterior wall.

Yes. Work area is adjacent to an occupied area. Occupied area will be protected from dust, debris, etc. Vendor’s responsibility.

7. 3.5.12- need manufacture of data jacks to be used. Need number of opening in faceplate and is contractor to supply blank cover for any unused openings?

Contractor needs to provide or use a cover/faceplate/data plate, with hole in it so the Ethernet cable can be routed through it. Vendor supplied cover must be capable of handling standard LAN connection.

10. 6.1.2- states that we have access to building within 100’ of door. Please confirm that contractor can unload on Staff Dr in front of door “H” No, please unload in back of building 3001, Door P. No unloading on staff drive is allowed. Unloading with coordination can be done in building 3001, door P. Trucks after unloading will have to be moved.

11. 6.1.5- Please provide current and correct CAD file for this project. Is there a RFC, Reflective Ceiling Plan, plan available to insure accurate location of lights, HVAC supply & return registers, sprinkler heads and fire alarms? To be sure that any new walls do not interfere.

No. Vendor will field verify and ensure location of lights, HVAC supply and transfer duct returns, sprinkler heads and fire alarms are not obstructed.

12. 7.0- please confirm that during site visit it was determined that once space is turned over to contractor that any remaining product is to be disposed of. Letter of Abandonment/Destruction to be supplied by government.

Correct, any remaining product is to be disposed of by the contractor. Letter of Abandonment/Destruction is not required.

13. 7.6- please confirm how this section applies when contractor is to deliver a solution per SOW and attachments 1-15 using manufactures standard products.

Please collaborate by face-2-face and site visits, etc. Contact Point of Contact, Mr. Winfred McNeely, 406 SCMS/GUEEB, winfred.mcneely@us.af.mil, work phone 582-9964. All changes must be approved by Contracting Officer only. Any field verifications and changes may be coordinated with Mr. Winfred McNeely but final approval is by Contracting Officer.

14. 11.1.1-.3- Will a FARs 51 Letter of Supply be provided in order to allow contractor access to AFICA Flooring contract? If so, will there be a percentage cap of management fees allowed?

Ask contracting office or Connie Lucas.

15. 11.1.4- there seemed to be some discrepancies in what is systems furniture panels and architectural demountable wall. Please identify the 110 LF of walls to be bid.

Architectural demountable walls will be used for all floor to ceiling walls, such as the supervisor offices.

16. 11.1.5 - Please confirm Wall fabric to match systems furniture fabric.

User will select color and pattern of all fabric.

17. 11.1.6 - please confirm that a “full height” sliding door and STC .44 rating is required.

STC .44 or not less than .40 is required. Height of door is not as critical as the STC rating. Floor to ceiling height or other standard height can be acceptable, so long as the STC rating is maintained.

18. 11.1.7 - Please identify specifically where new walls and doors will intersect with existing wall and how many LF shall the wall continue down back side of conference room. Understand that the existing wall is from another manufacture and the two systems may not connect seamlessly. However, all attempts to provide a reasonable transition will be supplied.

Please place 6 ft. (108”) wall all the way down to the sheetrock wall. The sheetrock wall should have a floor to ceiling wall in front of it.

19. 11.1.16 - what does adjustable mean? LED lights are design to provide greater candle foot coverage with more energy efficiency’s.

Adjustable means the light can be moved or adjusted in the area where it is mounted.

20. 11.1.17 - please confirm monolithic tackable panels are acceptable.

Yes, monolithic tackable panels are acceptable.

21. 11.1.23 - should sliding door be same height as adjacent panels for team leads?

Yes.

22. 11.1.24- Tinker AFB electrical standard does not allow for appliances to be connected/plugged into systems furniture. Additionally, please advise how one is to access plugs if terminated in base. Please advise. Suggestion; wall-mount overheads and tack board and have electrician install dedicated power above worksurface. Tack board can be cut around receptacle for clean accessible appearance.

Tinker AFB electrical Standard does allow for appliances to be connected/plugged into systems furniture as long as it is designed as such. Dedicated 20 amp rated outlets and dedicated circuits will be used for these areas. Proposed solution is not acceptable.

23. 11.1.25- will modification of existing supply duct be required to make register operable. If so, please modify to state such to LF of duct required and add exclusion that contractor not responsible for any HVAC balance in work area. Is return register plenum or ducted? If ducted, please provide LF of duct required.

Each closed office needs an air and return duct in it. Vendor will field verify distance required. Offices will require return ducts or transfer ducts.

24. 11.1.26- contractor can supply & install fire alarm. 72nd CE to supply statement that current system is operating as it should and that it will support additional devices. CE also to indicate where additional devices are to be integrated into exiting system.

Contractor is responsible for coordinating with CE for testing to confirm the above.

25. 11.1.28- Will existing light fixture be required to be relocated? If so, how many and how far. Can plenum support relocation of fixture?

Vendor will field verify any light fixtures needing to be relocated.

26. 11.1.29- based on clarification on 11.1.25-28 there may be need for clarification.

Vendor will field verify dimensions and locations.

27. 11.1.34- Door “H” is the closet door to sight. Please advise which door to use.

Door “P” is the ONLY door that can be used for carrying material to and from the work site and access to this location MUST be coordinated in advance. Parking for employees is in the main parking lot, either to the east from building #3001 or north in the gravel area. There is also a small section of contractor parking to the east from door “F”, labeled GOV/CE Contractor parking. After unloading of material near door P, truck must be moved.

28. 11.1.35.1, 5, 7, 36- contractor has been instructed by 72nd communications squadron not to touch LAN lines. Please advise. Depending on how the existing LAN lines are ran through and terminated in exiting furniture there could be the need to remove heads to order to remove from furniture.

Vendor will not cut any LAN lines. Vendor will not touch any 12 port boxes. LAN line and connector will be protected to prevent breakage of connectors (tape clips) when pulling the LAN lines. When re-installing the LAN lines care should be taken to not break clips. For any issues contact 448 SCMW Facilities @ 405-734-9028.

29. 11.1.35.8- Please provide specification for paint and chair rail.

Paint is no longer required.

32. Atch 6 Flip flop office area. Delete 36” x 36” corner work surface. Reverse sliding door and 36” Panel, attaching 36” panel to wall starter.

40. During site visit it was discussed who is responsible for ceiling tile replacement for damaged tiles intersecting with existing power/comm pole and floor to ceiling walls. If it is contractors responsibility, we need tile specification and number of tiles.

If tile is damaged or leaves holes as contractor accomplishes work, contractor is responsible for replacing these tiles. Tiles specifications: 769A Armstrong, 10 YR Availability Guarantee, made in the USA 04/17/02 06 01

41. Will you require the existing 15 amp, single pole breakers in the electric panel to be replaced with new 20 amp, single pole breakers for this project?

No. The office is equipped with 20 amps receptacles, the breaker box is in the rear hallway not the one located in the office which has 15 amp breakers.

42. Will the printer by the Flight Chiefs office require a 20-amp receptacle? If so will it need to be on its own circuit?

Yes

43. Will the small Shredder by the Flight Chiefs office require a 20-amp receptacle? If so will it need to be on its own circuit?

Yes

44. Will the large Shredder by the Flight Chiefs office require a 20-amp receptacle? If so will it need to be on its own circuit?

Yes

45. Will the Air con. by the Flight Chiefs office require a 20-amp receptacle? If so will it need to be on its own circuit?

Yes

46. Will any fire alarm upgrade be required other than the (2) Section Chief & (1) Flight Chief offices?

No

47. This is designated as a Small Business Set Aside. Do you prefer it to be Small Business Manufacturer or a Small Business Contractor such as TALU?
