About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) attachment for the F3G3EA5195A002 - CP Regional Console solicitation. The Q&A addresses several technical specifications for a console installation, including precise equipment spacing requirements. Key details include computer and monitor separation distances (58" between PCs, 15" between 49" monitors), wire line separation guidelines per AFSSI 7702 (minimum 2" separation between red and black wire lines, increasing to 6" for parallel runs over 30 meters), and clarifications about equipment mounting.
Specific equipment details include UNIFY phone/radio system 20" screens positioned 4-6 inches from 49" monitors, and confirmation that phone systems should be mounted on articulating arms like the monitors. The document also references an existing console with a hard surface and internal cabling/UPS access doors. The Q&A provides technical clarifications about power cables (only needed for console height adjustment), and addresses questions about existing furniture removal, with references to attached photographic documentation of the current console setup.

Attachment 4 – Questions and Answers
Q: Attachment 1 – SOW Section b.i.1. notes separation between computers. Can you confirm the distance as it is not noted?
A: The distance between the PCs and ports they plug into is 58” apart. If you are referring to the distance between the 49” monitors it is 15” apart. Minimum distance of 1 meter between secure and unsecure computers.
Q: Does there need to be separation spacing between cables and monitors in addition to the computer spacing?
A: Yes, minimum 2” (5 cm) but must be 6” (15 cm) for parallel runs wire 30 meters or over (100 ft). The
AFSSI 7702 stated red and black wire lines should be separated by 2 inches (5 cm).
RED Wire Line and BLACK Wire Line Separation. This countermeasure is required if BLACK wire lines exit the inspectable space unless the line distance of the BLACK wire lines from the building containing the RED equipment to the boundary of the inspectable space is greater than 2,000 meters or if the
BLACK lines are fiber optic.
Separate RED wire lines from BLACK wire lines by 5 centimeters.
Do not place RED and BLACK wire lines in a common distribution facility. It is permitted to use a common distribution facility for RED and BLACK fiber optic signal lines provided:
Either the BLACK or the RED fiber optic signal lines in a RED distribution facility must have an opaque sheath. BLACK fiber optic signal lines should not have metallic stiffeners or sheaths. If they do, treat the stiffeners or sheaths as fortuitous conductors and ground both ends of the stiffeners or sheaths if the
BLACK fiber optic signal lines leave the inspectable space.
Separate RED fiber optic signal lines in BLACK distribution facilities from the distribution facility before the distribution facility exits the CAA.
Using multifiber bundle for both RED and BLACK signals is not recommended. If used, an opaque partition between the RED and BLACK fibers is required. Maintain total accountability of all fibers to preclude compromise through misconnection.
When RED and BLACK wire lines are run parallel for 30 meters or more, increase the separation to 15 centimeters.
Q: Can you provide the size of the smaller third monitor at each position?
A: The UNIFY phone/radio system 20” inch screens are the smaller monitors you see displayed in attachment 3 , these are essential and used for daily operations. The screens were measured to be between
4-6 inches apart from 49” monitors.
Q: Attachment 3 - Rendering document shows phone shelves, but Attachment 1 – SOW does not indicate they are required. Can you confirm they are not required?
A: They should not be required, the actual phone system should be mounted just like the 49” monitors, on articulating arms mounted to the slat rail.
Q: Attachment 1 – SOW Section c.v.iii. indicates the console vendor is to provide power cables. Can you confirm that this is a monitor power cable and provide the type of power cable required?
A: The only power cables needed should be for the console itself to raise and lower each specific position.
SOW has been updated to remove section c.v.
Q: Attachment 1 – SOW Section 1.1.1 - are there photos or any sort of description of the existing furniture that needs to be removed and disposed of?
A: Please see the pictures attached. The current console is one entire hard surface. Under the counter top is a set of doors that open on both sides for cabling and UPS systems to be run through.
