Text version
What is the Bezel Size Required? 1.7 MM Government indicates that the video wall is to produce one overall video image. We do not know what video system signal will feed the video wall processor? The video image will come from a PC or laptop.
Indicated in the document GFE equipment, but is not listed on what will require to interface with the new video wall? Laptop or PC will interface with video wall.
Equipment rack is listed, but not clear on if it is GFE or contractor provided. Clarification on how much GFE equipment will be rack mounted so we can design accurately. See attached equipment list.
Is the contractor responsible for programming the Extron system? Does Government have source code? The contractor is responsible for programing the Extron, the government does NOT have source code.
Is a floor plan available to show dimensions of the room, and distance of equipment to rack? See attached drawings.
Are signal flows available? No Please, identify the distance between Video Wall Location and Video Wall Processor / Controller Location. See attached drawings.
Please, confirm who is responsible for running cable drops between:
| a. | Video Wall Controller and Video Wall Screens (contractor) |
| b. | Video Wall Controller and 3 of the input sources (contractor) |
Please, provide details (port type) for interconnection between VTC and Video Wall.
It has been indicated in RFO that “There are no network switches involved with this project”. It is highly recommended for both Video Wall Controller and 9 x TVs to have network drops for potential management applications. Is it possible to allocate a network switch with IP addresses or could vendor provide a switch / router to support separate AV connection for both? No As, typically, Video Wall monitors do not come with audio built-in, do you have existing Audio Solution in the Conference Room to be integrated (please, provide specification details) or should we quote one (how many speakers and where should they be located). There are already speakers installed in the conference room.
Video Wall monitors typically generate substantial amount of heat. Based on provided photographs, we do not see any way for heat to dissipate. Will Air Force be able to install ventilation grills in the requested space (engineering drawings will be provided) or is Vendor expected to do this Vendor is expected to do this.
Can we get a complete list of the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)? See attached list.
Are there any As-Built Drawings of the existing system(s) in place? No
Is the 514th AMW responsible for providing enough video outputs for the Video Wall? If not, is it the vendors responsibility to provide the necessary hardware to support the Video Wall? Vendors are responsible.
Section 1.2 - Required Services: Configuration maps all nine displays into a single combined display; a video processor is not proposed that would permit different or multiple displays to be input to the wall simultaneously, but this functionality may be added at any time in the future by adding appropriate hardware. Is the main goal to provide a single image across all nine displays? The main goal is to have multiple displays shown on wall simultaneously.
What are the measurements (WxH) of the wall where the Video Wall (Displays) will be installed? See attached measurements.
In the first round of Q&A’s you stated any display can be put in the design “As long as the displays have the same quality and capability”. If we do change the display model and power is needed at the rack, would this be acceptable? Yes
Does the 514th AMW have the uncompiled Extron Code? If so, can this be sent out to properly quote what the re-configuration of the code would cost? Or is the Government looking for a complete re-do of the code? The 514 does NOT have Extron code, need quote for reconfiguration.
If an Extron Switch/Processor is installed, can a picture of the back of it be provided to have a better understanding of the Input & Output Cards? See attached pictures.
To confirm: Contractor will provide and install (9) 46” LED-LCD displays, in a 3 x 3 configuration including mounting hardware. Contractor will provide and install a single HDMI video cable, exiting the existing wall plate just below and to the left of the display, for a single video connection to the display. This shall allow the full 3x3 array to operate as 1 large display. No other integration will be required (ie per walk through, positions 1.5 and 1.5.1 on the SOO_514+AMW-Conference+Room+Video+wall+final attachment has been removed). Yes, but multiple displays need to be shown on wall simultaneously.
Is user control of the displays to be done with the provided IR remote control only, no use of new or existing control systems? Note, when wired properly, the display system will only require a single remote, and operate as 1 large display, rather than 9 separate displays. Use existing control systems.
What is the acceptable range for bezel width (image-to-image distance between displays, both top-to-bottom, and left-to-right)? There is a variety of video wall products on the market, and the thinner the bezel, the less cost-effective the product becomes. Options are 1.7mm or 3.5mm bezel to bezel with the Samsung displays at 500 cd/M2 brightness). Which thickness do you require? 1.7mm, 500 cd/M2 brightness
