About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for the Maxwell AFB Jones Auditorium Wireless Microphone Refresh solicitation (F2XHC36041A001). The Q&A provides clarification on the existing system configuration and contractor requirements for replacing an end-of-life wireless microphone system at Jones Auditorium, which supports senior-level professional military education at Maxwell Air Force Base.

The existing system consists of Sony wireless microphones (model number not provided), a BIAMP Tesira audio mixing console, and includes four lavalier and four handheld microphones, though the current system is inoperable. Contractors must reference the amended Statement of Work paragraphs 5, 5.2, and 7 for detailed installation scope, including both installation and removal of existing equipment. The government confirmed that eight (8) ANX4-4CL licenses are required to support new handheld and bodypack transmitters, with no existing Shure ULX-D or compatible transmitters currently available. Contractors must warranty any government-owned equipment that is directly worked on or replaced during installation for one year, and must provide accreditation and security documentation meeting AWC requirements per SOW paragraph 3.0, including TAA compliance. Existing drawings and photographs of the installation are available in attachments, though source code and signal flow diagrams are not available as this is not an AVOIP system. There will be no extension on project timelines due to completion requirements.

A. Please reference the amended SOW para 5.2 as well as para 7.0.

3) Can you provide and/or confirm that the existing source code for the current system is readily available? We will need this to make amendments to the system.

Otherwise, we will need to re-program the system from scratch.

A. Control system files for the touch screen are available. This is not a AVOIP system. No source code available.

4) Can you please send over signal flow diagrams for the existing system?

A. This is not a AVOIP system. No signal flow diagrams available.

5) Could you please provide the following: Current Setup Details, Photos of the existing installation/site, Relevant measurements, any available design scope or installation requirements.

6) Are the existing AV system drawings from the previous contractor available for bidding purposes?

A. Please see Attachment 3 and 4 for the drawing and the Photos.

7) What is the brand and model number of the existing wireless microphone system?

A. Sony. A model number was not provided, reference amended SOW Para 7.

8) What is the brand and model number of the existing audio Digital Signal Processor or mixing console?

B. BIAMP Tesira. A model number was not provided. reference amended SOW Para 7.

9) Does the current wireless microphone system include four lavalier and four handheld microphones?

A. Yes it does.

10) Is the existing wireless microphone system currently being used for sound reinforcement?

A. The current system is in-operable.

11) Could the Government provide any special accreditation requirements applicable to this effort? Is there something specific you are looking to get in terms of this? Regarding the requirement for "Accreditation and security documentation tailored to AWC requirements," could the Government clarify what these "AWC requirements" refer to?

A. There are no other special accreditation and security documentation not already stated in the SOW (Para 3.0) such as TAA

12) Can there be an extension on this requirement.

A. There will be no extension due to the timeline needed to complete this project (subject to change?).

13) New Hardware: Do you only require the eight (8) licenses to support the new handheld and bodypack transmitters currently being purchased?

A. YES

14) Does the end-user already own existing Shure ULX-D or compatible transmitters that will be connected to this specific ANX4 receiver?

A. NO

15) If there is existing inventory, please provide the total quantity of microphones that will be in use.

A. N/A

16) If there are no existing microphones and the total requirement is confirmed at eight channels, we will proceed with the revised quote for eight (8) ANX4-4CL licenses.

A. Yes

17) I noticed on your bid document that "Any existing Government-owned equipment integrated into the system shall be warranted by the Contractor as new for a period of one (1) year". Typically, this type of Service agreement would require customer to provide an equipment list as our standard installation warranty for parts and service we installed is included in our bid document however it's risky for us to warranty integrated equipment for a year without confirming the model number to verify age. If they do not have equipment, can I meet them on site tomorrow to take pics of their equipment in order for me to include existing integrated equipment in our 1 year warranty agreement?

A. By existing equipment, we are not meaning the whole entire system. What we mean is any item that will be directly worked on (Anything installed or replaced) in conjunction with the installation of the new equipment. Also, Please reference the amended SOW para 5.2 as well as para 7.0.
