About this file
This is an Existing Equipment Inventory exhibit for an architectural design services and kitchen renovation project at the Greenville County Detention Center in South Carolina. The inventory documents 48 line items of existing kitchen equipment and infrastructure currently in place at the facility, including refrigeration units, ice machines, dishwashing equipment, cooking apparatus (braising pans, kettles, mixers, ovens), mobile food warmers, reach-in coolers, meat slicers, work tables, shelving units, sinks, meal tray racks, exhaust hoods with fire suppression systems, floor drains, and grease traps. Equipment ages range from existing/unknown vintage through 2025, with manufacturers including Manitowoc, Scotsman, Champion, Groen, Vulcan, Revent, Alto Shaam, Traulsen, and others. The County explicitly states that this inventory is for reference only and does not constitute a scope of replacement; the determination of which equipment will be retained, reset, reconnected, relocated, or replaced will be developed collaboratively between the awarded design firm and the County, with the County retaining final decision-making authority.
Detailed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and gas rough-in data for all items is maintained in the County's source schedule and will be made available to the awarded firm upon selection. Notable equipment requiring utility connections includes the braising pans, roll-in ovens, and convection ovens, with several items requiring new water supplies or extended utilities from existing rough-in locations. The inventory serves as a baseline assessment tool to inform the design process, ensuring the selected architectural and engineering firm understands the existing facility conditions and infrastructure before developing renovation plans for kitchen operations at the detention center.
