About this file

This document is a groundwater testing report from CTL|Thompson, Inc. for the Power Trail Underpass project in Fort Collins, Colorado, prepared for OTAK, an engineering firm. The report details groundwater testing performed on a sample recovered from piezometer TH-1, with testing methods focused on gasoline (GRO – TVPH) and diesel (DRO – TEPH) range petroleum constituents. The testing was conducted for planning purposes related to potential dewatering needs for construction, with the sample collected on July 7, 2023, and analyzed by Technology Laboratory, Inc. on July 11-12, 2023.

The laboratory analysis results show that both DRO (TEPH) and GRO (TVPH) levels were below the minimum detection limit of 0.5 mg/L, using EPA methods 8015B and 8260B respectively. CTL|Thompson noted that the piezometer was originally installed for geotechnical purposes, and strict environmental installation techniques were not employed, which may potentially impact the testing results. Despite this caveat, proper sampling and transport protocols for environmental sampling were followed during the testing program.

Per your request, CTL|Thompson, Inc. groundwater tests were performed on a sample recovered from piezometer TH-1 at the above referenced project. We understand the testing is for planning purposes related to potential dewatering needs for construction. Testing methods included gasoline (GRO – TVPH) and diesel (DRO – TEPH) range petroleum constituents. The results of testing are included with this letter.

Per our discussion, you understand that the piezometer was installed for geotechnical purposes and strict environmental installation techniques were not performed, which may or may not have an impact on the testing results. Proper sampling and transport protocols for environmental sampling were followed for this testing program.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with you on this project. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact the undersigned.

Sincerely, CTL|THOMPSON, INC.
