About this file

Exhibit B is a document from the City of Kentwood, Michigan, related to a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Fire Hydrant Commercial Blast and Painting services, identified as Project No. 25-016-536. The RFP seeks qualified contractors to provide professional fire hydrant maintenance services, with the intent to enter into a one-year agreement that includes the option to extend for four additional one-year terms. The scope of work specifically requires sandblasting and painting of fire hydrants from the breakaway flange connection upward, with the contractor responsible for removing and replacing soil as needed to match the original grade.

The document outlines specific technical requirements for the hydrant maintenance, including exposing the break away flange and bolts above grade, with the City of Kentwood committed to reseeding new grass after the work is completed. Contractors must adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations during the project. The accompanying diagram provides a detailed technical illustration of the hydrant installation, highlighting the specific areas requiring sandblasting and painting, and demonstrating the precise grading and installation expectations for the project.
