Exhibit A - Sample sidewalk art.pdf

This is an exhibit document supporting a Request for Proposal (RFP) for sidewalk art services issued by the City of Portland, Oregon. The exhibit provides sample images and reference examples of sidewalk art installations to illustrate the scope and style of work expected. The samples include photographs from various locations, including a county department of public health art installation in Seattle that appears only when it rains, a koi fish design on a sidewalk with hidden artistic meaning, and entrance displays at Bellaboo's Play & Discovery Center in Lake Station, Indiana. Additional examples show sidewalk art installations in downtown Chicago at 100 W. Monroe Street. These visual references demonstrate the quality, scale, and creative approach anticipated for the project.

The related RFP indicates that the selected contractor will develop approximately 4-8 sidewalk art stencils and be responsible for securing a Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) permit, notifying adjacent occupants, and implementing the sidewalk art at 20-45 locations identified by city staff. The anticipated project locations are primarily in the Eliot, Powellhurst-Gilbert, and Hazelwood neighborhoods. The total funding available is $170,000, with individual contracts anticipated to be significantly less than $50,000 per the project manager's guidance.
