About this file

The document is a technical specification for the Generator Replacement Project at the McLeod Correctional Center in Atoka, Oklahoma. The specification covers electrical system components including low-voltage electrical power conductors and cables, grounding and bonding systems, hangers and supports, raceways and boxes, electrical system identification, and a diesel engine generator set. The project involves replacing the existing generator with a new packaged engine-generator set designed for emergency power supply, featuring a diesel engine, unit-mounted cooling system, control and monitoring capabilities, and an outdoor enclosure. The generator is specified to be a Level 2 emergency power supply system compliant with NFPA 110 standards.

The generator set is required to have specific performance characteristics, including a three-phase, four-wire output, voltage regulation within 1 percent from no load to full load, and the ability to handle sensitive loads with specific transient voltage and frequency requirements. The specification details requirements for the engine, including fuel system, cooling system, starting system, and battery components. The project includes provisions for a 5-year manufacturer warranty, initial maintenance service, and on-site load bank testing. Potential manufacturers include Generac, Cummins, MTU Onsite Energy, Kohler, and CAT, with the requirement to source the generator set and auxiliary components from a single manufacturer.
