About this file

This Distribution Pricing Sheet, prepared by the Boston Public Schools Department of Food and Nutrition Services, establishes the pricing structure for a three-year food and supplies distribution contract running from January 1, 2027, through August 31, 2029. The contract encompasses four service categories: daily delivery service (108 days in Year 1, 180 days in Years 2 and 3), weekly delivery service (23 weeks in Year 1, 40 weeks in Years 2 and 3), emergency after-hours delivery service (55 instances annually), and daily summer delivery service (36 days annually). Estimated usage quantities are specified for each service type across all three contract years, with Year 1 running January 1 through June 30, 2027, and Years 2 and 3 running September 1 through August 31 of their respective years. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with sealed bids due October 5, 2026.

Bidders are required to submit a three-year total price for all distribution services, though the pricing sheet itself shows all unit prices and total prices at $0.00, indicating this is a template for bidder completion. Vendors must meet stringent qualification requirements, including a minimum of five years' experience in time and temperature-sensitive product delivery and demonstrated capability to service over 100 delivery locations. Bidders must provide a minimum of three client references from the food service market segment that confirm successful completion of contracts with comparable volume and scope. All references must include business name, contact person, phone number, email address, service description, and total contract value. Boston's prevailing wage and living wage ordinances apply to the contract if valued at $25,000 or more, requiring covered vendors with 25 or more full-time equivalent employees to pay a minimum of $19.36 per hour as of July 1, 2026, with annual adjustments. Additionally, vendors using vehicles exceeding 10,000 pounds gross weight must comply with the Truck Side Guard Ordinance, including installation of side under-ride guards, convex mirrors, crossover mirrors, and warning signage, with City inspection required before work begins.
