About this file
This document is an Addendum to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the Production of Accessible Electronic Files for Texas Public Schools. The RFQ solicits qualified contractors to produce master files in braille-ready format (BRF) from instructional materials adopted by the State Board of Education (SBOE) under Proclamation 2024, as well as for future IMRA cycles, proclamations, and TEA-developed open education resources. The addendum addresses various questions received from potential proposers regarding the formatting and presentation of sample materials, the use of TEKS references, and the required sample length for the math submission. It also modifies the requirements for the math sample to include pages 294 to 301 (Lesson 7.1) of the Geometry, Student Text and Homework Helper, Pearson Education, Inc., ISBN 978-01-3330067-3, Copyright 2016.
The contract will be awarded to qualified contractor(s) who can provide these services on an as-needed basis. The jurisdictions involved include Travis County and the city of Austin. The document does not provide information on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements, or other salient financial details.

1. QUESTION: In terms of tactile graphics, will TEA accept Swell Touch or Tiger graphics?
TEA RESPONSE: TEA will accept master files in braille-ready format in any format that renders the best results for reader comprehension while keeping in mind cost efficiency for large-scale production in providing copies of embossed materials at the state level. Please use the method you plan on using when routinely producing materials for students throughout this contract.
2. QUESTION: The braille samples reference TEKS, do you want the reference to the TEKS included in the sample material provided to TEA?
TEA RESPONSE: You may omit the references to TEKS in the sample material created for the evaluation.

4. QUESTION: Some of the PDFs and NIMAS files do not match, such as the Social Studies PDF provided is from Savvas Texas while the NIMAS file is from Pearson; what do we use?

please refer to the ISBN, which is 978-0-13-330949-2.
5. QUESTION: On Page 506 - the Social Studies PDF is different than what is in the NIMAS files. How should we address this issue?
TEA RESPONSE: Proposers will not be held accountable for any discrepancies; however, if differences are noted between the PDF and the NIMAS files, please defer to the PDF. Proposers should strive to recreate the PDF for their samples.
6. QUESTION: These are all Texas Editions and that should be indicated in braille as well, correct?
TEA RESPONSE: Correct; if the print edition refers to “Texas” in the title, please use the same title in the braille format.
If the title is different on the solicitation than in the pdf of the materials, please refer to the title that appears on the materials.
