About this file

This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) for the procurement of a control panel and sally port replacement system. The project involves the supply and installation of a new control panel system designed to manage sally port operations at a correctional facility. The RFP requests detailed proposals from qualified vendors capable of providing equipment that meets specific technical specifications and security requirements for correctional facility operations. Proposals must be submitted by the stated deadline, with evaluation criteria including technical capability, equipment quality, installation timeline, and overall project cost. The contract will include a defined term for equipment warranty and ongoing maintenance support services during the initial contract period.

The pricing structure requires vendors to provide comprehensive cost breakdowns covering equipment procurement, installation labor, testing, and commissioning services. The RFP specifies acceptance criteria for the completed system and includes provisions for performance bonds and insurance requirements. Funding for this project is provided through TDCJ's capital improvement budget allocated for facility infrastructure upgrades and security system enhancements. Vendors must demonstrate prior experience with correctional facility control systems and provide references from similar projects. The RFP may include preferences for vendors with established relationships with TDCJ or those meeting specific qualification criteria, and the successful contractor will be required to comply with all applicable Texas procurement regulations and security protocols for work performed within correctional facilities.

Any such investigations shall be at the sole discretion of TJJD, and any negative findings, as determined by CPA, may result in non-award to the Respondent.
