This document is a State Holiday Schedule for Fiscal Year 2026 applicable to all state agencies in Texas. The schedule outlines 23 designated holidays and observances throughout the fiscal year, with varying operational requirements across agencies. Holidays when all agencies are closed include Labor Day (September 1, 2025), Veterans Day (November 11, 2025), Thanksgiving Day and the day following (November 27-28, 2025), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the day following (December 24-26, 2025), New Year's Day (January 1, 2026), Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 19, 2026), and Presidents' Day (February 16, 2026). Additionally, Memorial Day (May 25, 2026) and Independence Day (July 4, 2026) require agency closures. Optional holidays that employees may observe include Rosh Hashanah (September 23-24, 2025), Yom Kippur (October 2, 2025), Cesar Chavez Day (March 31, 2026), and Good Friday (April 3, 2026).

Several holidays require skeleton crews to maintain essential operations: Texas Independence Day (March 2, 2026), San Jacinto Day (April 21, 2026), Emancipation Day (June 19, 2026), and LBJ Day (August 27, 2026). A footnote specifies that when Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Confederate Heroes Day both fall on January 19, 2026, only Martin Luther King, Jr. Day will be observed with all state agencies closed. This schedule serves as the official operating calendar for state workforce planning and budget allocation purposes throughout fiscal year 2026.
