About this file

This is Addendum 1 to a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) Procurement and Contract Services for IT disaster recovery software solutions. The RFI, numbered ITD202605140858, seeks cloud-based solutions that integrate with existing ticketing systems and Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs) to automate disaster recovery documentation and orchestration for critical applications within TXDPS-owned and managed data centers. The primary focus is documentation automation that includes recovery run books, with success criteria encompassing reduction in manual effort, disaster recovery readiness time, and audit compliance. The original submission deadline was July 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. via the TXDPS Online Bid Room. Questions and clarifications were due June 17, 2026, with responses provided by the effective date of this addendum on June 26, 2026. This RFI is strictly market research with no contractual obligation or commitment to procure, and all submissions become TXDPS property and will not be returned. Respondents may be required to provide product demonstrations or presentations following submission.

The addendum addresses 38 vendor questions and clarifications regarding system integrations, backup retention periods (6 years for documentation retention), engineering responsibilities, disaster recovery testing procedures, ServiceNow module deployment, CMDB maturity, cloud infrastructure preferences, licensing models, data retention policies, and regulatory compliance requirements. TXDPS declined to disclose several specifications, including details about the new ticketing system being implemented, specific ServiceNow module deployments, current discovery tools in use, infrastructure coverage percentages, CMDB maturity levels, RTO/RTO targets, and cloud deployment preferences, stating that such specifications will be identified in the statement of work if a future solicitation is pursued. The agency confirmed current documentation repositories and after-action review processes for disaster recovery plans and test results, and noted that different applications are identified annually for disaster recovery testing. Point of contact for the RFI is Vito Garcia, CTCD, CTCM at vittorio.garcia@dps.texas.gov.
