About this file

This is Amendment No. 1 to a procurement solicitation issued by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) for a 50-ton HVAC system installation at Formby Unit. The amendment revises the original bid opening date from July 1, 2026 to July 2, 2026, both at 3:00 PM, and provides clarifications to bidder questions regarding equipment specifications and installation requirements. The document addresses twelve key questions submitted by potential bidders concerning unit configuration, ductwork connections, heating capacity, controls, and safety features. A pre-bid site visit was conducted to allow vendors to inspect the installation location and obtain photographs of the existing equipment and pad area located between two buildings on a cement surface.

The amendment confirms that the HVAC unit requires specific features including natural gas heating, an integral disconnect, hail guards, and smoke detectors with designated space for detector installation. The unit is pad-mounted with side-mounted supply and return duct connections, includes a return fan, and requires an outside air damper rather than an economizer. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this amendment in their bid submission or the bid may not receive consideration. Bidders are required to register with TDCJ contact specialist Teria Godwin-Pierce and submit registration information to receive all posted amendments through the Electronic State Business Daily; the agency assumes no responsibility for bidders who fail to receive amendments due to incomplete contact information submission.
