About this file

This is a quote specification document for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requesting proposals for a hand high-density mobile filing system. The project involves the procurement of one new high-capacity file shelving mobile filing system designed for medium to heavy usage, including installation and setup. The system specifications include two single-faced stationary units measuring 5 feet long by 12 inches deep by 77¾ inches high, and six double-faced moving units measuring 5 feet long by 24 inches deep by 77¾ inches high, each with seven adjustable shelf openings per face and one divider per opening. All shelving must support a minimum of 40 pounds per linear foot, operate via hand crank mechanism, and be mounted on track-guided carriages with rails capable of supporting at least 700 pounds per linear foot of carriage (750 pounds preferred). The installation shall include removal of carpet underneath the support rails only, leveling of support rails, and factory-applied electrostatic powder coat textured paint in colors selected by TCEQ, with laminate end caps of TCEQ's choosing.

Vendors must provide comprehensive product data, shop drawings, color and product selection samples, and warranty information executed by the contractor, installer, and manufacturer. The installer must be a manufacturer's authorized representative with a minimum of four years of experience installing comparable four-post shelving systems. Additional requirements include a guaranteed 24-hour response time for service calls, onsite demonstration and training, an instruction manual, a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), and verification that the system meets ADA compliance, fire code requirements, and industry safety standards. Vendors must measure and verify room dimensions prior to fabrication, provide a written assessment of any conditions detrimental to system performance, and coordinate delivery with at least one week's notice to TCEQ. The document does not specify a quote due date, contract term, renewal options, or pricing details.
