About this file

This document is a Security Compliance & Confidentiality Agreement (Form 1828b) issued by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) for external users requiring access to department information resources and confidential data. The agreement establishes mandatory security and confidentiality standards that external contractors must acknowledge and comply with throughout their contractual engagement. The form requires signature from the contractor's authorized personnel, including printed name, payroll unit number, and date, with the original copy retained by the security administrator and a copy provided to the external user.

The agreement outlines comprehensive requirements for protecting TxDMV's confidential, sensitive, and intellectual property information, including trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and materials developed during contract performance. External users must comply with all department information resource security policies and procedures, maintain strict confidentiality of assigned access credentials and passwords, and refrain from unauthorized disclosure or use of protected materials. Violations of these standards may result in disciplinary actions ranging from loss of information resource access privileges to contract termination, civil liability, and criminal prosecution under the Texas Penal Code Section 33.02 and the Computer Fraud & Abuse Act of 1986. The agreement defines information resources broadly to include all computer systems, storage media, telecommunications equipment, and electronic data transmission devices used by the department. Questions regarding confidentiality requirements or information disclosure authorization should be directed to the TxDMV Information Security Office.
