This is a technical specification document from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the procurement of a Portable Spectrophotometer, specification number TxDOT 493-77-47328, dated February 2025. The specification details requirements for a portable spectrophotometer to be delivered to TxDOT's Materials and Tests Division in Austin, TX. The device must be the latest model with specific technical requirements including: dimensions not exceeding 9" x 4" x 4", weight under 1 kg, 45/0 measurement geometry, spectral range of 400-700 nm with 10 nm resolution, LED illumination, touchscreen interface, and multiple connectivity options. The unit must comply with ASTM D2244 standards and include PC-based software.
The equipment must include a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with 8-hour continuous operation capacity and self-calibrating capabilities. The warranty must cover material defects and workmanship for a minimum of 12 months with 100% parts and labor coverage. A Konica Minolta Model CM-25cG is provided as an example make/model. Vendor performance will be monitored regularly, with specific criteria outlined for both unsatisfactory and exceptional performance determinations. The specification does not indicate pricing requirements or set-asides, though it emphasizes that only new equipment will be accepted, excluding used, shopworn, demonstrator, prototype, or discontinued models.
