Updated 4/5/2024

The 2022 Feasibility Study laid out some important considerations for site location in terms of accessibility for all geographic regions of Hays County.

There has been much discussion about on which side of 35 the Pet Resource Center should be located. Ultimately, we recommend locating the center east to be in closer proximity to centers of need.

Proximity to areas with greater need for resources will help address resources gaps, intake, and alleviate some animal control call volume.

We recommend satellite or popup locations or expanded partnerships west of 35 to connect residents with adoption opportunities and other services.
