About this file

This is an addendum to a solicitation for an engraving cutting system, issued on May 15, 2015. The document clarifies specifications and requirements for bidders submitting proposals for the equipment. The original specification called for an Epilog model engraving and cutting system with specific features including air assist with an optional pump and Mac-compatible print driver capability. The solicitation indicated a preference for USA-made equipment but stated this would not disqualify bids from non-USA-made products that meet quality standards. The specification included a requirement for Mac driver compatibility in addition to the manufacturer's standard Windows-based computer system, as the procuring entity operates both Mac and Windows systems on campus.

The addendum confirms that while the bid specification references a specific manufacturer model, the procuring entity will accept substitutions from competing manufacturers that offer equal or higher quality at the same or lower price, provided all required information is included in the proposal. The air assist pump is included with the system, and bidders must ensure their submissions address the specifications outlined in Sections II and III of the original solicitation documents, which cover specifications, costs, vendor information, and general product specifications.

Engraving Cutting System

Addendum #1

5/15/2015

The following questions have been asked, see below for the answers.

1. : Your bid specification indicate that your specified product is made in the USA. Is that a requirement of the product bid or just a statement about the product specified?

Will you exclude any product that meets other specifications but not US Made?

Answer: The Made in the USA is what we would like to have, if you are submitting a product without this it will not preclude you from the bid process as long as the quality is there.

2. Does this Epilog model include air assist wtih a compressor as most systems with this power would?

Answer: Yes the air assist does, the pump is optional but included with system.

3. Your specified machine manufacturer has listed that it requires windows based computer to run the machine but you have specified a Mac- compatible print driver.

Could you clarify this specification? Will you be requiring a Mac Driver for the bid?

Answer: Yes, you will be needing to have the Mac Driver as well. We use both systems on the campus.

4. Your specifications include a model number of a specific manufacturer. Are you interested in bids from competing manufacturers that offer a higher quality of product for the same or lower bid price?

Answer: Please read section II “Specifications, Costs and Vendor Information” also section III “General Product Specification Information’ 3.3. Yes we will accept substitutions as long as all the correct information is included.
