About this file
This is an addendum to the original contract documents for the English Building Electrical Service Upgrade project at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW), dated January 11, 2023. The project, identified as NBP #22105, involves replacing the main electrical service line and main switchboard and connecting to existing transformers and panels throughout the building. This addendum incorporates responses to questions raised during the pre-bid walk-through and clarifies specific technical requirements for the electrical work.
The addendum addresses two key construction questions from the pre-bid walk-through. For the demolition of old telephone conduits in the electrical room, contractors must provide a box on the back wall of the mechanical/electrical room and remove conduits back to this box, with conduit fittings and insulated bushings provided for all 1/2 and 3/4 inch empty conduits to allow future use by the owner. Regarding the second floor Panel C location, which features ceramic tile rather than the originally noted CMU wall, the addendum confirms that patching the tile with professionally matched colors and patterns, such as creating a framed appearance around the replaced panel, is acceptable to the owner.

ADDENDUM NO. 1
A1 - 1
This Addendum information shall be incorporated into the original
Contract Documents dated January 11, 2023.
Responses to Questions from Pre-Bid Walk-Through:
1) In the electrical room where we are demolishing the old telephone conduits, will a box be required on the end of the conduit where we take it back to the electrical room wall or can we just cut the conduits off?
1a) Provide a box on the back wall (wall opposite door) of the mechanical/electrical room and remove the conduits back to this box. Provide conduit fittings and insulated bushings for all of the 1/2 and 3/4 inch empty conduits to allow Owner to use these conduits in the future.
2) On the second floor at Panel C, the note indicated that this was a CMU wall. However, during the walkthrough it appears that the outer covering of this wall is ceramic tile. It will be nearly impossible to match this tile. Will it be acceptable to patch it with a tile that will match with the surrounding colors and in a pattern that will look professional? Such as cutting it back and creating a frame as such around the replaced panel?
2a) Yes, this is acceptable.
