About this file

This document is an Emergency Purchase Statement from the State of Illinois Chief Procurement Office. It details an emergency procurement by the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ) to extend a contract with Protocol Criminal Justice Inc. for a Communications and Control Center that provides 24-hour assistance and services to the IDJJ and the Illinois Department of Corrections. The original contract had lapsed, and this emergency extension will allow IDJJ time to put a new contract out for bid while continuing to use the existing vendor and services. The expected start date is September 1, 2021 and the expected end date is November 29, 2021, with an estimated expenditure of $53,000.

The statement indicates that the emergency procurement is necessary to prevent or minimize serious disruption in critical State services that affect health, safety, or collection of substantial State revenues. The vendor, Protocol Criminal Justice Inc., provides a variety of services through the Communications and Control Center including offender movement and scheduling, emergency response, equipment monitoring, and information sharing with parole agents and other personnel. State funds will be used to fund this emergency extension.
